This site is within the Green Belt and the Council considers the proposed development would constitute inappropriate development in the Green Belt. This is an application for a large number of caravans and the Council considers it would destroy the character of open fields and harm the openness of the Green Belt.

Diamond Jubilee
Plans are progressing for a community event on Monday 4th June in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. There will be lots of fun activities during the afternoon and also an evening of entertainment by local talent.
We are hoping this will be a FREE and exciting community event for everyone to enjoy so please keep it in your diary to attend and take part in all the activities planned

“Sixty Years of a Village at Play"

The project is now well underway with workshops with various village groups. This is an exciting and enjoyable intergenerational project. It is hoped to involve as many people as possible. The result will be an exciting interactive exhibition in Wolvey Village Hall on Saturday 2nd June and a big play event at the Playing Fields on June 4th

For regular updates and information please see the Wolvey website, village noticeboard and shop window

Streetlighting
The Parish Council has decided to change the contractor who maintains the streetlights in Wolvey for the coming year. All the streetlights will be re-numbered and plotted on a plan. Some of the older steel columns will be tested and there will be an ongoing programme to replace old streetlight columns.

Traffic calming
The Council has agreed to install two vehicle activated signs on Church Hill and Coventry Road. As these need to be installed on a streetlight with a steel column we must first replace a concrete streetlight column on Church Hill. This is likely to take up to 3 month to complete.

Councillor Surgeries
Wolvey Parish Council now holds a Councillor Surgery on the first Wednesday of every month to enable local residents to raise issues with councillors informally, outside of parish council meetings.
If you would like to speak to a parish councillor, please come along on Wednesday 4th April 2012 at 7.30pm in the back room of the Village Hall

Next meeting of the Parish Council is due to be held on Monday 16th April at  7.45pm in Wolvey Village Hall.

Members of the public are invited to attend all meetings of the parish council.  An agenda will be posted on the village notice board and on the parish council website three clear days prior to the meetings

The Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Wednesday 25th April at 7.30pm in Wolvey Village Hall
