 WOLVEY AWARDS

Warwickshire's Community Awards 2011

At Warwickshire Community Awards 2011 Wolvey was the Overall Winner.
Wolvey won the Gold for both the Communications and the Sustainable Environment categories.  Wolvey also entered the Community Buildings, Community Projects and History & Heritage sections and although didn’t receive prizes in these sections gained sufficient points to be declared the Overall Winner.

We received a large Silver Cup, three certificates, £300 in prize money and a Statue of Warwickshire's Bear and Staff which is sited in Wolvey Square for the coming year.

Praise was given for the amount of activity that takes place and the number of people involved.  So thanks and well done to everyone who helped to complete the entry forms and also for all the work that goes on all year by all the various village groups. This really is an award for the whole village.

The Competition
The competition is open to any group or organisation in a village with no more than 5,000 residents and there are hundreds of pounds to be won. Entry is free.  There are six categories: Community Projects, Community Buildings, Communication, Community Heroes , Sustainable Environment and History & Heritage and communities can enter as many or as few categories as they like, and each category as many times as they like.
